Pacific Blue Cuts Domestic Fares
Posted on: August 21st, 2008 by Tanya DuttnelPacific Blue has made an announcement that they will be reducing their domestic airfares. Pacific Blue has decided on an unusual move to reduce their domestic airfares by about 10 dollars within the competitive market of trans-Tasman. Adrian Hamilton-Manns, the Commercial General Manager of the airline, said that the new decrease in airfares provides Kiwis with another chance to save more money on their domestic air travel. Their new GO! Fares is just another example of their effort to make sure that as many people from New Zealand as wants to, can pay an inexpensive visit to fly around the country, not a fortune, he continued.
Pacific Blue said that with the tourism and business regions in New Zealand feeling the pressure from the softening of the economy around the globe, the cheaper prices on fares will help to stimulate domestic tourism even more, while making it even more affordable for traveling among the business community. The new GO! Fares of Pacific Blue will begin effectiveness on Monday, offering value on flights operating between Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland. The carrier has been operating flights domestically throughout New Zealand for nearly a year now. Their move comes after Air New Zealand slashed their airfares on Melbourne and Sydney flights this past Sunday. They dropped their one-way fares for Sydney flights to 249 dollars and flights for Melbourne to 199 dollars.
