The horrific series of problems on Qantas Airways aircrafts continued on Thursday when two of their flights from Perth Airport were canceled due to technical problems. The airline has had 3 emergencies in mid-air, battering their image among the public and scrutinizing their safety record.

Hundreds of Passengers at Perth Airport were stranded on Thursday morning, following a morning flight to Sydney being canceled when the aircraft was not able to leave Karratha due to hydraulic problems. After that, an aircraft flying to Melbourne was made to turn back to Perth Airport less than one hour into its morning flight, following the crew discovering that they were not able to access water to drink, which also meant that the toilets were unable to flush. Keith Hedgeland, a passenger from Willetteon, said that the water poured out the back of the aircraft as they returned to the airport’s terminal. The engineers worked for nearly 5 hours on the problem before Qantas canceled the flight.

On Wednesday, frustrated passengers criticized the carrier’s failure for keeping them informed during the time that they waited for their flights. Sandra Law, traveling with her 3 kids and husband, said that Qantas Airways gave them food vouchers, however, they didn’t provide much information on flight updates or their options for flying on another flight. Paul Braszell, from Belmont, said that it was annoying to see travelers leaving on later flights to Melbourne while they were waiting in the terminal. A spokeswoman for the airline said that some of the passengers were put on other flights to their destination, and the staff was doing all they could to accommodate the some 233 passengers on other services.
