Singapore Airlines Supports Indonesian Tourism

Singapore Airlines is signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Culture in order to boost the arrivals of tourists in Indonesia. After this move, a 250,000 thousand US dollar joint spend will be used during the next 3 years in order to conduct joint promotional activities within major markets, of which contribute to the arrivals in Indonesia, mainly including the United States, Middle East, Australia, North Asia, and Europe.

These activities will be targeted at promoting and developing tourism in Indonesia in a preserving way, with the participation of Indonesia travel and tourism companies in global travel trade fairs, media educational trips, the organization of ground arrangements where needed, familiarization and educational trips, and sales missions. The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Culture will donate money for joint promotions and advertisements in markets overseas. Singapore Airlines will donate to the movement via air travel, waiving excess luggage fees and rebating cargo.

Mr. Huang Cheng Eng, the Executive Vice President of Marketing & The Regions for Singapore Airlines, said that the Memorandum of Understanding that they are signing is just renewing their long-commitment of working close to the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Culture. Singapore Airlines has been a partner in the promotion of tourism in Indonesia for numerous years, he continued, and he doesn’t have any doubt that the new Memorandum of Understanding is going to cement their existing strong ties.

Dr. Sapta Nirwandar, the Director General of Marketing for the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Culture, said that their targeted number of tourists is to be 7 million, and they have gotten theirselves ready through an integrated tourism program, while continuously undertaking travel promotion activities in overseas markets with Singapore Airlines, who is ready to support them.
